Welcome To My Website

This site was last updated on August 7st, 2008. Six new paintings have been added to the 2008 gallery, three of which were painted en plein air, at locations around the Comox Valley. Painting out of doors has its challenges, but the rewards far outweigh any difficulties that are faced when set up in situ. Because of the need to capture the subject quickly, the work is looser and much more fluid and has a feeling of being alive that is hader to achieve in a studio setting. The other three paintings, posted above, were painted in my studio from photos of some of the beautiful landmarks of the Comox Valley.

This summer is a busy one. This past weekend I was involved in the Filberg Festival with the Comox Valley Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists, of which I am currently a member of the executive.  It was a lot of work for us to put the show on, but it was a wonderful experience and a great success.

This coming weekend, August 9th and 10th, I will be taking part in the Originals Only Art Show and Sale, in the Comox Marina Park. Information about this event can be found by clicking the Originals Only link at the bottom of the page. I will be sharing a booth with Teresa Knight and will have all my newest work on display. Hope to see you there.

Blue Atlas Cedars ~ Filberg Park

This past weekend I took part in the Filberg Festival with the Comox Valley Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists. The festival was an exciting place to be, great music and a variety of quality crafts and art booths. On the final day I had a demo slot at our booth where I painted on site in front of whoever cared to watch. It was a fun experience to paint and talk about my art and what I was doing at the time in my painting. This painting of the trees close by our booth, Blue Atlas Cedars ~ Filberg Park, was the result.
